2018 Summer Programs for Kids Schedule

St. Ignace Public Library

JULY

July 1: Summer Reading Bingo Begins! Pick up a bingo card at the library or sign up online. Ages 5-18

July 9 @ 1:00 pm: Summer Reading Camp- Masterpiece Painting Party (ages 5-12) – We will be creating portraits of ourselves and creating funky hairstyles by melting wax crayons. Please register with a librarian by June 6 for this event.

July 9 @ 7:00 pm: Magic Show (Family)

July 10 @ 1:00 pm: Summer Reading Camp- Mini Prospectors (ages 5-12) – Join us for a fun filled event

by coming a mini prospector and exploring all things rocks with our different stations, like making rock candy.

July 11 @ 1:00 pm: Summer Reading Camp- Mini Book Golf (ages 5-12) – Join us for a game of book themed mini golf.

July 11 @ 7:00 pm: Gemini Music Concert (Family)

July 12 @ 10:00 am: Storytime (ages 2-5)

July 12 @ 1:00 pm: Summer Reading Camp- Rock n’ Roll DIY T-Shirt (ages 5-12) – Create your very own rock n' roll summer reading camp t-shirt. T-shirts and materials will be provided. Please register with a librarian by July 10 for this event.

July 16 @ 10:00 am: Move & Groove (ages 1-5) – Join us for a fun, interactive music and movement based program for toddlers and preschoolers.

July 16 @ 1:00 pm: Summer Reading Camp- Rockin’ Art (ages 5-12) – Join us in creating our own musical sun catchers with old CDs and make 3D music notes with our 3D pens.

July 17 @ 1:00 pm: Summer Reading Camp- Rockstar Treasure Jars (ages 5-12) – Join us in making

rockstar treasure jars out of colorful clay and gems. Treasure jars will be baked that night and can be picked up the next day.

July 17 @ 3:30 pm: Talk & Play (ages 1-5+) – Join us for a fun, play-based program for toddlers and preschoolers.

July 18 @ 1:00 pm: Summer Reading Camp- Mod Your Guitar (ages 5-12) – Join us to mod your guitar with our art supplies and take the best rock star photo in our rock n' roll photo booth. Vote for your favorite guitar for a special summer reading camp prize.

July 19 @ 4:00 pm: Reading Rocks Summer Concert (Family)

July 20 @ 10:00 am: Storytime (ages 2-5)

July 27 @ 10:00 am: Storytime (ages 2-5)

July 27 @ 12:00 pm: Picnic Flick (Family) – Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a film together.

 

AUGUST

August 3 @ 10:00 am: Storytime (ages 2-5)

August 4 @ 2:00 pm: Summer Reading Bingo officially ends, turn in your bingo cards or finish up online

August 11 @ 1:00 pm: Water Sponge War (Family) – Join us in the ultimate water battle on the Library’s front lawn with sponges (safe and soft to throw).

August 10 @ 10:00 am: Storytime (ages 2-5)

August 17 @ 10:00 am: Storytime (ages 2-5)

August 20 @ 10:00 am: Move & Groove (ages 1-5) – Join us for a fun, interactive music and movement based program for toddlers and preschoolers.

August 21 @ 3:30 pm: Talk & Play (ages 1-5+) – Join us for a fun, play-based program for toddlers and preschoolers.

August 24 @ 10:00 am: Storytime (ages 2-5)

August 24 @ 12:00 pm: Picnic Flick (Family) – Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a film together

August 31 @ 10:00 am: Storytime (ages 2-5)
