· Patients with a dental emergency can arrive in person between the hours of 8-9 AM in Sault Ste. Marie and 7:30–9 AM in St. Ignace. (Sault Ste. Marie patients should register on the 2nd floor before arriving on 3rd floor dental). Emergency patients will be seen on a 1st come – 1st serve basis. Depending on the number of patients needing to be seen and the number of dentists available, the wait time until seated in a treatment room will vary. Patients might opt to or be asked to return the next day if the wait is too long.

· Dental emergency time is set aside for pain, swelling and infection related to the teeth and gums and not meant for routine dental care.

Walk-in emergencies will be available starting on Monday November 21, 2022 for St. Ignace and Sault Ste. Marie. In Manistique it is best to call to arrange for emergency care because of provider coverage uncertainty.

Urgent Communication to Patients:

Dear Tribal Health Centers’ Patients, Due to a potential upcoming shortage in testing supplies we urge you to please follow these recommendations when testing for COVID-19: • Please, do not test immediately after exposure. It usually will take 4 days for virus to become detectable in your system and produce a positive result. Testing too soon will result in potential false negatives and wasted reagents. • Please, do not test multiple days in a row. • If someone in your household has tested positive for Covid-19, please, consider waiting four days after their positive result to have any one else in the house tested. • It is not necessary to test for COVID-19 for the purpose of return to work after isolation due to initial positive COVID-19 result (unless you are severely immunocompromised). • You may consider free in home COVID-19 test. You may order it at Test kit will be shipped to you in 7-12 days. With your help and understanding we can keep providing this much needed service to you.
