Sault Tribal Health System Laboratory
2864 Ashmun Street
Sault Ste Marie, Michigan 49783

I need to have my blood drawn.  What do I need to do?

With this COVID-19 crisis, the Laboratory has had to change our entire process in order to accommodate our patients, including additional cleaning between each patient.  The biggest change is that all patients will require an appointment to have their blood drawn for follow-up testing, standing orders, pre-surgical orders, and orders from outside providers.  Please call 906-632-5230.  Upon arrival to the Sault Tribal Health Center, you will need to call to obtain the password for the day for entry into the Health Center.

Do I need an order?

Yes, every patient needs to have an order.  The laboratory staff cannot draw your blood without one.  Please make sure ahead of time that your Tribal Health provider has entered that order electronically.  If from an outside provider, then you can either bring in a paper copy of the order or you can have your outside provider fax the order to the laboratory using the following fax number:  906-632-5242.

Do I need to register?

Yes, every patient must stop at the 2nd floor registration prior to having your blood drawn.  This step helps our Billing Department tremendously.

What if I have symptoms of COVID-19 and don’t feel well the day of my appointment?

Please be courteous and call 906-632-5230 to cancel your appointment and reschedule.    At the same time, ask to speak with the triage nurse and they will be able to answer any questions that you may have to help with your care at home.   All of the staff at our Tribal Health Centers want to stay healthy for our families and for our patients.
