Alyssia Cruz, LMSW Clinical Social Worker

Alyssia began her career providing psychiatric testing and group therapy for adults in south Texas. She graduated from Texas A & M University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Social Work. She moved to northern California where she provided clinical case management to clients with severe psychosis, personality and mood disorders. Alyssia graduated with a Masters of Social Welfare from UC Berkeley in 2018. She went on to work at a community clinic providing couples, group and individual therapy to all ages. Alyssia started working for the Tribe in 2020 with a focus on supporting trauma survivors. She specializes in Motivational Interviewing, Solutions Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She works primarily with individuals seeking to reduce trauma, depression and anxiety symptoms. In her free time, Alyssia loves spending time with her family, working out and reading.

The Sault Tribe Behavioral Health Program offers a variety of culturally sensitive outpatient services, including but not limited to: Intake and Assessment; Individual, Couples, Family, and Group Therapy; Psychological Evaluations; Psychiatric Evaluation and Follow-up Care; Crisis Intervention/Urgent Care; Enhanced Outpatient for Substance Use Disorders; Compulsive Gambling Counseling; Auricular Acupuncture; Continuing Care Counseling; Alcohol/Drug Education and Awareness; and Home-Based Parenting Education.
