Optical

The Optical Department offers comprehensive Eye Health examinations with an emphasis on the prevention of ocular diseases prevalent within the Sault Tribe population.  We have the most current, up to date diagnostic equipment including the new OCT Cirrus.  This instrument can now offer the early diagnosis and intervention of sight threatening diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and macular degeneration.

Contact Lens services are now available at all three Sault Tribe Optical Departments.  Correction of refractive errors including nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and bifocal contacts are available for most patients.

Eyeglass services are available at all three locations.  There is a large selection of men’s, women’s and children’s frames to choose from.  Many lens options are available, including single vision, bifocal, trifocal, progressive lenses, and transitions.  Safety glasses and sport goggles may also be ordered.  We also offer eyeglass repairs.  Please call ahead for availability.
