General Medicine

The Sault Tribe Health Division offers outpatient medical appointments for all Sault Tribe members, their families, tribal members from other federally-recognized tribes, employees with insurance, and persons with Medicaid. Our dedicated staff of family physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners will provide comprehensive medical care for acute and chronic conditions for patients, newborn through geriatric.  We offer many in-office procedures such as DOT physicals, wart treatments, simple skin excisions, toenail removal, OMT (at specific locations), trigger point injections, and suturing.  In addition, we offer substance use disorder treatment through our MAT Clinic.

We encourage all patients to have a primary care provider. A primary care provider manages and treats your chronic conditions and offers preventative services.  Your primary care provider knows you best.  When your provider is unavailable for acute needs, our Walk-In-Clinic in the Sault is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., to assist you.

An otherwise healthy adult is encouraged to have a physical exam at least every 5 years.  Any adult on medications is encouraged to see his or her primary provider every 6 months or sooner as recommended by the provider.  Infants and children are seen more frequently at two, four, six, nine, twelve, and fifteen months, two years, and each year thereafter until age eighteen.

We encourage all patients to call our appointment schedulers at 906-632-5200, Option 1 - Fax 906-632-5202.
