What is Purchased Referred Care?
Purchased Referred Care (PRC) is a federally funded program with established coverage priorities based on funding for referred care from tribal health care clinic providers for services not provided within our clinics.
Who is Eligible?
Sault Tribe members residing within Chippewa, Mackinac, Luce, Schoolcraft, Delta, Alger, and Marquette counties.
How do I Apply for PRC?
Sault Tribe members residing in the established coverage area must complete and submit an application.

Sault Tribe Member's Responsibility
It is the Sault Tribe Member’s responsibility to call PRC for their voucher for all out-of-clinic services. PRC Coordinators determine if the referred care is covered based on funding and established coverage priorities for that fiscal year.
After-Hours Nurse Triage/Weekend Coverage
If you need to be seen after-hours/weekends when tribal clinics are closed, you must call the nurse triage line in your area where your primary care provider is located for it to be considered by PRC. You may be referred to the nearest walk-in, urgent care, or emergency room or make an appointment with your primary provider at tribal clinic. If you are referred from the nurse triage line to the nearest urgent walk-in or emergency room, please call PRC for your voucher within 72 hours to ensure you are on the program.
