April 6 & 7, 2021 COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic to be held in Sault Ste. Marie, MI

BY: Brandi MacArthur

The Sault Tribe's upcoming COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic in Sault Ste. Marie, MI is scheduled for Tuesday, April 6, 2021 and Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the Chi Mukwa Recreation Facility (Big Bear), 2 Ice Circle, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783.  We will be administering the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine at this event.

As of 3/22/2021, the Sault Tribe Health Division has administered 9,028 COVID-19 vaccinations.  The event is free and open to everyone, 16 years and older.  A parent is required for anyone under 18 years of age.  Please bring a photo id.  If it's your second vaccination appointment, please bring the CDC vaccination card that was provided at your first appointment.  An appointment is required.  As a bonus for attending the event, patients will receive a complimentary free Sault Tribe COVID-19 face mask and mini hand sanitizer.  All patients are screened on-site and provided a COVID-19 information packet which includes a CDC vaccination card, Pfizer vaccine fact sheet, a hand out about what to expect after being vaccinated and information about V-SAFE, an optional CDC application for reporting side effects, getting post-vaccine check-ups, and reminder to get your second dose, if necessary.

The Sault Tribe Health Division now offers online registration for anyone interested in a COVID-19 vaccine at www.saulttribehealth.com.  The registration process is an online form that allows patients to reserve their spot for a COVID-19 vaccination and allows the patient to add a site preference for Sault Ste. Marie, St. Ignace, Escanaba, Newberry, Manistique, Munising, Marquette, Hessel, or a homebound option for our Sault Tribe elders who not able to travel.  Once the vaccine becomes available, we can schedule the patient an appointment and send an email confirmation to address provided during registration.  If email is not available, we can try texting or calling the phone number provided in their registration.  However, email is best since it allows the patients to respond to a provided link and either confirm their appointment or cancel their appointment, for various reasons.

The Sault Tribe Health Division offers the following COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics - Sault Ste. Marie site on 4/6/21 & 4/7/21 and 4/27/21.  St. Ignace is scheduled for 4/16/21 & 4/17/21.  DeTour is scheduled for 4/26/21.  Don't forget to pre-register today and reserve your shot!

The Sault Tribe Health Division is in need of volunteers to assist with our mass COVID-19 vaccination events.  You can choose to volunteer for half a day or a full day.  Personal protective equipment will be provided on-site to all volunteers.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Carrie Horton at This email address is being protected from spambots. Watch our website www.saulttribehealth.com and our FaceBook Page "Sault Tribe Health Division" for more information and updates related to COVID-19.  The following COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics include Sault Ste. Marie site on 4/6/21 & 4/7/21 and 4/27/21.
