Work Experience: Mallinda has been employed with the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians since 1996. She worked as a Mental Health Technician/Intake Specialist for Anishnabek Community and Family Services. In 2012, Mallinda worked in the Behavioral Health Program as an outpatient therapist after her Masters was completed. She is currently employed as the Clinical Supervisor for the Behavioral Health Program since 2019.
Mallinda was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. She is a member of the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians. She graduated from Lake Superior State University in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with minors in counseling, sociology and child development. She later went on to earn her graduate with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Grand Valley State University in 2012. She completed her internship at Sault Tribe Behavioral Health Program where she provided outpatient therapy. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Malinda’s approach to therapy is to create a safe and comforting environment and uses an integrated approach of treatment techniques to address individual needs. In her free time, Mallinda enjoys spending time with her family and dog, listening to music/attending concerts, traveling and watching her boys play baseball and hockey.

The Sault Tribe Behavioral Health Program offers a variety of culturally sensitive outpatient services, including but not limited to: Intake and Assessment; Individual, Couples, Family, and Group Therapy; Psychological Evaluations; Psychiatric Evaluation and Follow-up Care; Crisis Intervention/Urgent Care; Enhanced Outpatient for Substance Use Disorders; Compulsive Gambling Counseling; Auricular Acupuncture; Continuing Care Counseling; Alcohol/Drug Education and Awareness; and Home-Based Parenting Education.
