Physical Therapy

Physical therapy can be provided only by licensed physical therapists (PTs) or by physical therapist assistants (PTAs) working under the supervision of a physical therapist.  Many physical therapists today hold a doctoral level degree.  Occupational therapy and speech therapy are also offered at the clinic.

The profession looks to:

  • promote the ability to move
  • reduce pain
  • restore function
  • prevent disability Source: Guide to Physical Therapist Practice, 2nd Edition

Appointments will initially be made by the referral coordinator after your physician has ordered physical therapy services.

Patients are typically seen 2x/week for 4-6 weeks, but every individual is different and you and your
physical therapist will discuss your plan of care on your first visit.

Plan of Care May Include Therapeutic Exercise, Manual Therapy, Massage Therapy or Modalities such as traction or electrical stimulation. Each treatment plan is customized by the therapist to meet the specific needs of each patient
