Urgent Communication to Patients:
Dear Tribal Health Centers’ Patients, Due to a potential upcoming shortage in testing supplies we urge you to please follow these recommendations when testing for COVID-19: • Please, do not test immediately after exposure. It usually will take 4 days for virus to become detectable in your system and produce a positive result. Testing too soon will result in potential false negatives and wasted reagents. • Please, do not test multiple days in a row. • If someone in your household has tested positive for Covid-19, please, consider waiting four days after their positive result to have any one else in the house tested. • It is not necessary to test for COVID-19 for the purpose of return to work after isolation due to initial positive COVID-19 result (unless you are severely immunocompromised). • You may consider free in home COVID-19 test. You may order it at COVIDtests.gov. Test kit will be shipped to you in 7-12 days. With your help and understanding we can keep providing this much needed service to you. If you have any questions, please call the COVID-19 triage line at 906-632-5200 (press #1).
